How long is"Long Term" for everyone on here?

Long enough to make money

as long as it takes, desu.
i got a nice portfolio of about $200k in more conventional assets. i'll receive a tidy sum in inheritance within the next thirty years, so i'm not really burdened financially enough to make a risky play.
but, i put $3k into crypto in may, and while i've considered bumping it up to $10k several times, i think i'm content with where i'm at.
if it all implodes, whatever, it's $3k. i'll probably continue to do sporadic day trading for a while, and then hope i wake up with a half mill under my pillow in four to five or ten years

>1 year, longer for stocks
the rest of my fucking life(2 years)

My investment horizon is 8 years out. That is when I turn 40 and I want to retire if possible. Currently I have a bit less than 100k in crypto and 20k in more "traditional" assets (index funds)
I will need at least 2.5 mil to maintain a modest lifestyle as permanent NEET.
