Ex-NEET here, making money now, have a few thousand saved and I don't know what to do with it. Letting it sit in a savings at something like 0.013% interest seems like a bad idea so I want to get into investing. Any decent guides/books on investing? Please dont tell me to buy memecoins, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

Essentially, as a beginner you want to avoid stock picking and speculating (gambling) on single stocks. Pick in index fund (a group of stocks) that you particularly believe in or think is valuable...they can be things like certain assets (stocks, bonds, real estate) or particular sectors (healthcare, tech, energy).
This way, you get some skin in the game and a diversified portfolio right off the bat without being too invested in one company to do really well.

if you have more than $2500, you can invest in an index fund. You can invest in individual stocks with companies you like which is riskier than index funds and mutual funds but has the potential to grow with leaps and bounds if you time it right. Or you can spend it on something like a trip, or a hobby you enjoy.

then put all your money into a tech stock you know is launching some revolutionary shit and pray to god it doubles in the next year. If it doesn't you go back to eating chicken tendies, if it does then you get to eat caviar out of a models ass.
