I actually think it's important what typing you learn first too. If you're coming from a static typing language like Java, Python will be easier for you.

Seriously though, if the business ([particularly finance) profession just wants to be lazy because it can through money around and get people from other fields to do shit for them, rather than taking the initiative itself, then imo, it deserves the automation that's coming for a large part of it.

I work for a large European bank in a corporate office in the US doing federal tax stuff. It's incredibly boring but the pay isn't bad and the coworkers are for the most part cool. After being a retail fag as a kid and at one point a farm hand, my goal is to avoid ever having to deal with the general public or do manual labor again.
