The BCC hard fork did not lower BTC's value. I see your point but in the long term successful hard forks would be inflationary. It's better to just stick to a few specialized coins. For our own good it's better to stick to just a cryptocurrency dominant design.

The odds are greater that it will continue to go up for the next couple of years. Not by the meteoric standards of the past decade, but it'll probably at least hit $10k in the next couple years.
