There are lots of coins shilled here and I can never tell which ones are good so I just buy the ones that people say are going up. Is there a better way to find out if coins are good? I want to increase my profits

look at a coin's website, reddit, ANN thread (bitcointalk.org forum), etc. basically google around and see if it looks like it has active devs and an active community. most shitcoins don't, and there's no reason to invest in ones that don't even meet this minimal standard.
