Hi Internet,
we recently started a business for importing prefabricated houses -suited for the elderly, mentally ill and their carers- from China to Australia. We're a young and enthusiastic team but we have very little experience with such big projects and the trading with China in general. Therefore we thought we ask you guys first before we hire a expensive professional consultant.
The design and construction plans are already in progress, the finances are sorted and we found a potential manufacturer. We heard about the rumors about chinese manufacturer and we have no idea how to find out if they are working ethical correct (no child labour/abusive work). But also other things are interesting for us: which insurances are necessary, which licences are required, which materials are as common and dangerous as asbestos, etc.
Basically everything you can think of could be helpful for us and to make affordable housing in Australia and other countries possible. Even if it's just something "simple" like an awesome administrative program or a website with checklists and informations to research these things.
I hope you can help. Cheers.
You'll want to hire an australian chinese, they'll rip you off if you're a laowai and you'll probably not understand why if you're not chinese
