Shouldn't all blockchain efforts be aimed at minimizing our carbon footprint? Cryptos certainly have the potential to do that, but I can see it not being a major talking point at the moment.
Most PoW coins like BTC use massive loads of computing power which essentially could be easily replaced by eco-friendly alternatives.
This is not an argument for PoS, just that whenever a coin is created on the rules that it requires unnecessary spending of our power resources, I honestly can't see future mass adoption by any environmentally aware societies (meaning most of the world).
