Without the whole communist state stuff, wechat comes in quite handy - you can pay anywhere (even in small street restaurants where you literally only have room for 6 people) and the payment is instantly done via a QR-code.
This is literally what cryptos in part(!) want to accomplish and they have this for years already, while western countries still thing applepay is somewhat innovative because they can buy the new iphone with their old iphone.

Right now Antshares/NEO would be the best bet with difference I guess, including byzantine protocol and 50% votation system was the best thing they could do, also china government alredy stated that they are backing them as long as they follows certain rules thay they alredy demonstrated to obey, like the signature-included transaction type.
