bagholders; why didn't you set a stop limit?

If you had set a stop at about 5% loss, you would have woken up 5% poorer. Instead you didn't, and now you might have lost up to 80% of your initial buy-in. Why didn't you set a stop?
>>
the first stop loss i ever set was for eth at $81, after buying at $80. it touched $81 on a wick, selling all my eth, and immediately went back up to $83. i didn't want to lose the $3 difference on such an amateurish mistake, so I put in a buy to buy it all back at $80 again. it never touched $80 again, and went to $120 instead.

so that was my first experience with stop losses. subsequent attempts at stop losses have yielded similar results.

Few exchanges offer a stop limit, you have to implement it yourself (with a rather simple script), but not many people can do it
>>
>>2852991
You aren't supposed to set arbitrary stop losses lmao

you need to set stop losses just under major resistance/support points
>>
>>2852919
gamblers; why don't you stop gambling?
>>
>>2852919
are you the same crypto-grandma from last time?
>>

> now you might have lost up to 80% of your initial buy-in

I did not. I'm up over 1000% my initial buy in with some pretty wild swings on the way here. If I kept selling at every 5% dip I'd still be poor.

how can you be this shitty at investing? holy fuck. people like you can only make money on a rally and then you suffer for months at a time.
>>
>>2852919
The average /biz/nessman believes they haven't lost anything until they sell, they'll hold until a coin has no bids before they'll sell a loss.

Stop losses are useless. If you actually believe the coin has potential to rise, you shouldn't sell at such a small dip. If you don't think it will become valued higher in the first place, don't buy it

look on the daily chart and find a low/high that has been repeatedly bounced off of. set it above the high or below the low. Anyone telling you to do this on shorter time frames is a retard or a lucky meme that will lose soon.
