I did 5 years in the mines and they always have a couple of electrical engineers on site because the plans and reality don't always meet so on the fly changes need to be approved on site.

I do it so my fiance and I can realize our dream of owning a small farm that grows food and also is a refuge for unwanted animals. We currently foster and raise litters of feral kittens and then get them adopted out by the no-kill shelter that we volunteer at.

that's one of the reasons for what we do. feral cats wreak havoc with local wildlife and they kill tons of birds and small mammals. So what we do is remove themi from the ecosystem, make sure the parents are spayed/neutered, and get the litters of kittens adopted out.

We do it because we love the kittehs, and we are also trying to protect our local environment.

that can be said for ANY cat, feral or not. but most cats are INSIDE dwellers. most people who love their cats don't allow them to roam around outside.

where we live (northwest chicago burbs up by Wisconsin state line) there are MANY dangers for pet cats outside - we literally have packs of coyotes roaming our neighborhood sometimes - we live on the edge of a big Nature Preserve, so we see lots of deer, rabbits, and other critters walking around our house.

INDOORS is best for cats. And since we are both spaying/neutering the parents, and removing the kittens from the cycle to foster them for new homes - we have probably eliminated thousands of potential feral cats that would have been born over the past few years since we started.

i would be more of a humanitarian, but i don't like people, like most autists on 4chan. so, i concentrate my efforts on helping the kittehs instead.
