Whoops wrong image. I feel terrible about my life, tax situation, and future in crypto in general. How I let my value get that high without taking profits, I am still puzzling out. Don't do what I did. Take profits at some point. If I had taken out just 100k usd anywhere near the peak I could be sitting so comfy now and even have gotten back in at a discount for more mad gains. Be cautious. Unless you're one of the many racist losers that posts here a lot. You guys should take a break from crypto and get with reality

Luck + research. Ex. Strat went 1000x, so if you invest in 1000 in 2016 on strat, 2017 would have been a millioniare.
Also the fact almost everything went like 10 to 20x this year.

>>2848981
It already has lightning network. The thing that's different from other is it has a self governance feature. Which will become its selling point/pump point Then all other shitcoins will add self governance to their coin as well. Plus it's a POS coin. So easy money as long as you hold. And high profile whales are in it. One is Charliee(LTC creator)

I learned about Bitcoin in a Slate article when it hit $5. Bought in around 1000 around $10, held for a while but got out when price didn't move around Greek crisis. Got back in with a BFL 60gh/s rig I bought for $8k on eBay as preorders started being delivered. Mined 25 BTC (actually solved a block while working on a pool, came out a wash) but difficulty increases were insane. I realized I probably wouldn't be able to mine more than 20 BTC more over the life of the unit. Found some idiot willing to pay me 45 BTC for it.

Bought the rest shortly before and after the silkroad crash at around $90 or so. Kept buying after the Gox collapse, including after it dipped below $200 again, and through a sort of sleepy $200-$300 period. Think I've spent maybe $3k on coins over $500.

Don't have any plans to sell.

I've used it a lot. Kraken's fee model depends on both how much you've traded in the past month and whether you're the taker or the maker. Initial fees are like 0.16% for makers and 0.26% for takers I believe.

I know, I have a feeling ETH's bull run is done for a while; but it's my baby and I have a hard time parting with it.

I had this sentimental goal in my head where I wanted to turn 100 ETH into a condo in a couple years, but I don't think that's happening anymore, considering I have almost 0 fiat.

Should i bring it down to 60 or 70 ETH, and put it into ANS or BTC or something?
>>

>>
>>2850057
>So its not baiting me in with lies to fuck me in the end?
Nope. It's just that Coinbase targets people who want a simple button to click on to buy BTC with instead of having to place orders on an actual exchange and whatnot. I believe GDAX, which is just the exchange version of Coinbase, has decent fees as well.

Still though, stay away from Kraken if you're looking to trade actively. The trade engine is complete and utter crap. Big trades made on it will completely freeze the exchange pair for several minutes at a time. Scalping is pretty much impossible to do well there. BitMEX is really good for that stuff, albeit more complicated because it trades derivatives. If you just want a simple way to buy and sell without getting fucked over by fees, Bitstamp is probably the best.
>>
>>2850057
most alt coin exchanges charge 0.2%/trade, maker/taker exchanges like poloniex charge 0.15% for maker trades and 0.25% for taker trades
>>
>>2850104
No idea when will be the right time to exit but I do think the floor is going to be ~$80 and you are going to want to be out before them.
Never get emotional about a coin, there are people holding delisted coins because they were convinced it was going to bounce back. (not saying ETH will be delisted but you get the point)
>>
>>2849968
patience is +/- 5%, not 70%.

the idea that "it will rise 300% eventually" is far less profitable than "it will go up or down 10% or 20% eventually"

are you very new to investing?

>>2849928
>emotional
take a math class

>>2849919
>my prediction is better than your prediction
as it stands, the guy is still down ~30% from his highest. if you're really results oriented, and monitoring your investments, then how the fuck do you justify that? you're timing the market like everybody else, only with the presumption that you should only sell when it's at X instead of Y. does it work? did you make a lot of money this last month on the 10, 15, 30% swings? or are you just claiming that "eventually" you'll make more by literally not doing anything in a volatile market?
>>
>>2850177
>Eth going to $80

>>
>>2850184
Look at price histories over years not days. It'll bounce back even if it's on unfounded panic when news talks about commercial quantum computers. As for being new, no, I've been in this game 3 years.

Yup, I believe orders on Coinbase basically just creates a market order on the GDAX exchange, so the fees they're taking just for doing that for you are pretty ridiculous. If for whatever reason GDAX doesn't work out for you, I'd recommend Bitstamp.

I sold my brother a bitcoin when i was around $300. I'd been hyping it to him for a while. Explaining what it was and how it was gonna be the most valuable thing ever.

Six months later he sold it for like $350. Probably bought a bag of weed with it.

I never miss a chance to tell him whenever there's a major breakout. He'll call me and be like "what's up dood?" and I'll be like "ahh...bitcoin just hit $3k, what's up with you"

He is so. fucking. stupid.

Making money is about patience. I would buy a bike before selling my btc. I would walk or take the bus before selling my btc. I would live the next year in absolute poverty in order to hold my btc.

Everything you own including that stupid car will depreciate over the next year. Bitcoin is the only thing you have that's going to go up in value. It there's one thing you don't sell, it should be bitcoin.

Now go buy your bag of weed and be stupid like everyone else

You are going to make it anon, most promising thing on your portofolio imo.

Not a fan of BNT and ICN, would trade both for Stratis or Blocknet once it dips. About LTC, the way I see it is that there's a lot of coins out there that lost more than 300% in value with the crash, they will sure rise again at least to their previous ATH as the market regains momentum so I would rather try to find one of those coins than to invest on a coin that barely gained or lost value like LTC. LTC is sort of like ETC in terms of profit to me, it doesn't lose much, it doesn't gain much.

Don't know much about ADT. Can you tell me why you hold so much of it?

80,000

I got 43,000 from the pre-sale @ $0.13 and picked up a further 42,000 from Etherdelta @ $0.08. Since then sold 5000 just to realise a bit of profit
If I didn't have so much of my holdings tied up in my margin account I would have bought more. Still, 80,000 is pretty decent.

My next significant buys will be 1st and Wings when I get the chance. Hopefully 1st stays around $1
