About as good an investment as courting your mom.
That depends.
Do you know how to run a profitable bar?
about as good an investment as shorting kneepads on the cryptomarket

About the same as a restaurant

Are you in LA? That's Harvard and Stone.
Generally speaking, very poor. Your bar is very likely to fail, especially if it's your first one and the amount of hours you'd have to put in is a huge opportunity cost. I would bet that you'd make better returns by investing your starting capital and keeping your dayjob.

Your mistake was assuming all these listed are bad investments.

I thought that was the implication. I figured owning a ranch is great, but I don't know exactly what a ranch is for in the first place.
