Phones are easily hijacked / their contents easily read, i.e. your private key is rather unsafe there.

You should consider holding most of your coins in cold wallets, and send to your phone wallet only the amount you need for spending. Rather like with a bank account and the cash in your pockets. You wouldn't ever pocket all your cash, because if you'll possibly robbed / pickpocketed (by the way your phone might be robbed as well as hacked).
