Why do businesses have a fetish for years of experience? Why call a position entry level if you cannot enter without years of experience?
Mostly it stops them from getting overloaded with under-qualified applicants.

because what they really want is someone who is experienced, yet desperate enough to take entry-level pay
who cares even if I was offered an entry job with good pay I wouldn't take it
Catch 22
Job getting = impossible
Options are
1) get rich in crypto
2) kys

This is the real answer. "entry-level" nowadays is code for "years of experience but we don't want to pay you."

From my own experience, i would say they much rather recruit people from within their own company to fill positions.

It usually means that company is financially in a shit position and needs some goy to work more efficiently for less pay.
You wouldn't want a job that demands experience with entry level work, because its the first red flag of them not willing to train or invest in your future.
Again, they want a dumb goy to hold the companies bags while getting less pay.
I've seen the opposite too. I just got a job that had pretty high requirements but I met most of them. Turns out it is easy entry-level shit for mid-tier pay.
