If you live in western Canada and use Shaw internet you have probably noticed that they are raising their rates. What you don't know is this is a ploy to upgrade some of their customers to a higher internet package. As of August 1st the price of a 30mbs package is changing from $75 to $80. Tomorrow they are secretly launching a 75mbs package at the same cost of $80. For the customers "benefit" on October 1st they will upgrade customers from 30 to 75 "since they're the same price". The increase in prices isn't to cover a baseline from running below cost, but instead to line their executives pockets.
