So now that the dust is nearly settled, and we know we are in the "capitulation" phase, what is your excuse for falling for the HODL ETH meme?
>>
>>2796685
This. Don't fall for the HODL meme. Sell now, buy back when the crash is over.
>>
Falling for what /biz/ tells you to do is the actual meme here, don't ever follow what /biz/ says
>>
No reason to hodl now, sell and wait for 1st august
>>
>>2796735
There are people here who delusionally tell people to HODL, and there are people who can see the forest for the trees, this was a giant bubble caused by ICO frenzy, there's no stopping the chart from completing it's formation now, do you really, seriously expect it to just moon directly after the beginning of the capitulation phase?

Who else is loving this bloodbath? I hope we see $100 soon, its down to nothing from there. Glad I got out when I did. To think this is all pre-August 1. Maybe we will see $60 ETH again. I cant wait!

My technical analysis shows that we are going to reach the "despair" phase in 1-2 weeks, coinciding with August 1.

At that point no one should be shocked to see $50 ETH again, all the HODLers will be pissed that they didn't take my advice and sell off and use that money to buy the "despair" phase so that they can have 3x the ETH when it takes off again in the future.
>>
Just quit investing. At all and anywhere. This goes for at least 99% of the people on /biz/. Why do you buy what is essentially fuel to maintain a blockchain network of dapps and then expect it to rise for any reason other than pure speculation? Do you also buy barrels of gasoline and store them at home as an investment strategy?

I own assets ON the ethereum platform and buy ethereum when i need it to conduct transactions and i have yet to see red numbers.

God you are so fucking stupid that you would choose a garage with no car but stocked to the brim with gasoline, over one containing a car with a full gas tank.

Then again, it doesn't really come as a surprise that a board filled with racism and bigotry would be dumb as shit, while also maintaining an illusory sense of superiority.

I only come here during market dips for cheap schadenfraude laughs and to feast on your tears of unfathomable sadness.

You are already in the wrong by calling it "investing" This is fucking gambling, nothing more.

Investing is looking at div/yield rates of company stock and determining if it's worth to hold on to that company for long term while getting a guaranteed dividend.

For example Royal Dutch Shell has a 7.4% div/yield meaning I will get a GUARANTEED return of 7.4% a year of the money I invested permanently until I sell my stock or the company goes under (Has been giving out dividend for over 200 years).

If you are young and smart and buy dividend guaranteeing stock with 20% of your salary every month and also invest the dividend back into new stocks you could have a passive income of ~$40.000 a year simply from dividends by the time you're middle age. You don't even have to sell your stocks just hold them permanently.

THAT is investment.

>sell
why.

the gamble (emphasis on gamble) is mass adoption in a new market.
the companies don't have to work perfectly, as if it was a new company in an established market. you can't compare it to stock trading.

it's almost a given that the number of people who will get in will further grow from September onwards - this is why we'll make money again.

What matters is how the price is in 1 year. also reduces taxes.

There's literally nothing wrong with holding coins that you believe have good fundamentals if you accept that you don't have the balls/knowledge/time to short or sell and rebuy at a lower price.

Sure, you're gonna make less money than someone trading the swings correctly but history shows that if you just hold bitcoin (as an example) you will be able to make a good profit. That's enough for a lot of people.

You get a higher dividend ratio when you buy while the stock is cheap. The dividend is usually a set amount and increases yearly, but if you buy in while the stock is cheap, you'll get a higher percentage. Now is a great time to get in to oil and gas for cheap. I've got about 30% of my portfolio in O&G. Real estate is also a great place to get dividends.

Yeah, or you could do like me and INVEST in GAMBLING itself and collect quarterly yields that far exceed any regular stock yielding share while simultaneously avoiding taxation of any kind. When i INVEST i do it with the mindset of never selling off (unless any unforseen negative event should occur, obviously).

The amount of transparency that blockchain technology offers (triple entry accounting) also doesn't leave me in the dark about how the things i invest in are performing until they release their quarterly/annual report.

Don't try to school me by calling my investments "gambling" when i can guarantee you that i both have more experience in traditional finance and crypto assets and devote way more time researching potential prospects before i invest a single dollar.

I apologize if this post comes off as too harsh, you are obviously not a part of those who my initial post is directed towards.

ethereum is never meant to be a straight replacement currency but lubricant for its "smart contracts" .

we all bought because it was 8 and thought it would go to 1,000 and also saw btc go way up. but we are all late to the party for speculation, so you are left with the real world valuation and use of it - which gains can be made but not massive and not at speculative increases.

You foolish newfags! The HODL meme was only applicable to the ETH's rise from $10 - to $420. It had some dips along the way and Anon's though it was over and going to crash at ~$180, ~$225.
One anon had a dream that $350 was the magic number, and time to sell then. That last parabolic rise was unsustainable. I knew that $280+ was even pushing it. Why would you buy so late in the game? If it's already up +3000% it is NOT YOUR MOON MISSION

I do, everyone is waiting until it hits the bottom to buy back, lol.
You've seen it raise and go down 20b in the span of two days during weekends.

$40-$50 was the range, by the time it was in the range that that reply said, it was already going nuts. My last ETH buy was at $70, I don't even remember it being $80, it just went straight past $100

We are at the despair phase or heading into it?
Man if bitcoin hits 100 dollars...

>We all bought because it was 8 and thought it would go to 1,000

Speak for yourself, you're worse than a no coiner. You could have bought at $2 when it was being shilled here last Jan - Feb. You're a filthy casual that's contributing to the downfall of this board

Very beginning of fear

People realize it isn't bouncing like normal
>>
>>2800989
Why would anyone expect it to bounce back before August 1st/resolution for Bitcoin is reached?
>>
>>2800969
Yeah, but do you really want to hodl for 2 years to break even?

$750 BTC and -$50 ETH according to OP

What's going to happen on August 1st and how would it affect ETH?
>>
>>2801307
Nothing will happen. The blockchain will get an update. Fuck there even is a official statement elaborating it.
>>
>>2797940
it could be, that it isn't atm the right time for cryptos. dunno remember the link, but there is a video, which explains the success of startups of enterprises.
top factor was, that it has to be the right time.
there were sites before youtube with same function, they didnt make it, youtube just hit the right time.

So it could be that the oldcoins won't survive nobody knows.
>>
>>2801307
>What's going to happen on August 1st
probably a small correction from the upcoming pump in couple of days
>>
>>2800847
I thought it was when it went from $20+ to $7 after the DAO hack. Can't we agree these kinds of charts are bullshit and is only supported by after-the-fact confirmation bias?
>>
Who the fuck is still hodling ETH? I thought we all sold around the peak because it was too fucking obvious?
