i was so close to buying two of these as couple of months ago, but once i saw there were already youtube "guides" and vids showing off their rigs, i knew it was too late.
HOWEVER
rx vega might be worth to buy for the future. even if eth crashes to double digits, it will eventually recover to around 200. as mining will become harder all those shitty 480 to 580 cards will be slow and near useless.

Aren't those rigs suitable for crypto analytic tasks? Instead of a mining pool for shit coins build a cracking pool for law enforcement agencies. Get paid per cracked password instead of signed block. Or offer your services for distributed simulations.

Back then at some point you needed to mine in iceland to make any money because of the cheap electricity prices there. Mining anywhere else wasnt profitable or you got electricity for free.

At least I was the fastest in selling my rigs. 1 day after it wasnt profitable I sold all on ebay.

I don't think there's any demand for that sort of thing. Maybe for cryptanalysts that can crack on a code-by-code basis, but you just can't throw an encrypted message at a GPU and have it artomatically crack any code.

You could of course just try to brute force it, but that's not feasible with most encryption.

Besides, if anyone wanted something like this they could just use Amazon Web Services or a million other cloud companies out there.
