Do u people have a thing where if you're added on your parents insurance as a partial driver it comes out much cheaper than on your own.

I live in new york city and my insurance is stupid expensive. Are those numbers you're quoting per year or per 6 months? Because I'm under my parents insurance we pay 3200 dollars a year for my 2008 Nissan Altima. If I was on my own it would probably be much more. I pay 577 dollars a year to insure my 2001 kawasaki ninja 250.
