Explain to me this coincucks because I don't understand quite well.
According to this website (https://bitcoinfees.21.co/) the average fee is something around 1.4 USD (0.0006102 BTC) and the value is independent of the amount of the transaction.
Isn't the whole idea of this is avoid excessive fees of the credit card/banking system?
How this would work if for example I want to buy an ice cream with btc in the future for example?

There's a lot of debate about this, and a lot of altcoins have proposed to solve this problem (LTC, for example). Bitcoin was the first to market and is the most valuable rn, but ultimately might be passed for everyday utility.
