Recently became an uncle and I was thinking about making a wallet for my nephew to give to him when he turns 18. The nice thing is I know his parents won't be smart enough to dip into it and this will give him 18 years of investment growth. What does /biz thing I should load it with for the long haul?

No way of telling what will survive for 18 years, but I think odds are better among the top 10. Pick your fancy from there. I'd go for BTC or ETH

Put it in BTC and ignore it.
Give it to him on his 18th birthday, don't even let his parents know you have it if you don't trust them with money.

18 years. Bitcoin could be worth a ton or nothing by the, so its a gamble. It may be nicer to split it 50/50 with some coin and some blue-chip securities.
Go for BTC, LTC AND ETH for like 80% or something.
Then pick some random promising coins like ans etc and put in 4 - 5% each. Then just wait/let it rot
