I had a large tax amount due last year and the taxman wanted it the same month - tried negotiating which didnt work much.

I cashed out 4 bitcoins (bought them for 350-400) and payed them. Anyways 6 months down the line I get a cheque saying I overpaid which was for the amount of the bitcoins - by then the price had already shot up so I essentially lost thousands due to their error.
