I am new to cryptos and have played around with buying $20 worth of bitcoin and put it on bittrex but am not sure how to tell what coins are good to invest in and what the signs are when to stay away? Any advice would be helpful.

Seriously now, for that amount of investment, it makes no sense to do any kind of research or wasting time keeping up with the currency's value. Suppose you double your investment (which I find it unlikely). How many hours would it have taken you to reach such goal? 10? 20?

For that meager payout, you're better off just working at McDonald's.
