what do people get out of travel like this? I understand the idea of moving to a place for 6 months+ and immersing yourself in the language and culture of different place. But I don't understand the benefit of going to a place for 72hours and doing a bunch of trivial shit. Other than bragging rights within your social circle, or perhaps convincing yourself that your life has meaning, what do people get out of it?
