Me

10 RIGS
60 1070s

1840 MH/S
8500 WATTS

COST: $27,000 USD

Currently makes $5,217 after power cost.

Rent - $1100 / month

So profiting $4117 right now... hopefully ETH goes up!

Also, getting another 10 rigs of the same stuff in 2 weeks.
So double everything I just said (except rent cost)

Will I get my money back before 2018?
>>
>>2739750
that's a really awesome setup anon. I just made my first rig with 6xRX470 cards. Not even 200$ for each card so next month I will get my money back and see if I can build one with 1070s
>>
>>2739750
where do you buy your stuff when there is no 1070 anywhere anymore?

also why do you want to build another rig right now when the near future looks depressive for mining?
I mean difficulty is skyrocketting, prices are dropping, other shit like PoS and all.

anybody knows why sgminer sucks so much for old GCN 1.0 amd cards?

claymore zec/eth works good. and every new version was giving boost.
cgminer and his forks... works quite good too

but when i try to use sgminer (for any algo).... its always shows me very crappy performance.

like performance of 750ti or some shit like that.

bitcoin ecosystem will always need growth, new miners. it has to stay profitable for the miners or it will collapse. if you do it right, bargain hardware and electricity, you can come out in the green.

or you could just buy the dip and hodl.

Not worth it.

Example: they charge $2,000 for 200 MH/s LTC (Scrypt) hashing power. You could buy an a Antminer L3+ for $2,000 and get 504MH/s and pay for 20 kWh/day power use.

How technically competent are you? Mining hardware is fairly stable once its set up, but can be a pain in the ass to set up.

Do your homework on the motherboard. Some of them are extremely finicky (Looking at you, Z-170)...

they use the last 30 day average to calculate your gains instead of current prices. We're now at maybe 40% of the prices paid last month, and it's not like difficulty is going to stay or drop lower. That page is a complete scam

OP here, the way i see mining is like oil mining, spoils of mining goto the most efficient miners(drillers). Oil companies have 5 to 10 years outlooks when they do drilling, and are constantly investing in the most efficient methods to reduce cost of extraction.

If you are doing crypto-mining, your biggest variable cost is energy, you guys need to look into solar to offset your energy costs and for fucksakes
stop thinking short term.

Also i theorize there will come a point where miners will make money off the computation power they have other than for mining, i dunno what yet but i think maybe research related stuff. People who want to crunch large amounts of data or indie studios that want to render computer graphics animations without going to some big hollywood gov setup.

>>
>>2740571
I'm mining DMD, and that PnD from last week has cut my $5/day mining in half, as more people are trying to mine it, which also increases its difficulty.

However, despite this, as time goes on, more people stop mining it, meaning its difficulty goes down and my profits will go up.

So my advice it to just keep mining and don't stop.

It'll all be worth it in the end.

Profiting? You're gonna need 4 months of mining to get returns. Difficulty is going up and ETH is down so maybe longer.

What would you mine if ETH were no longer profitable?

Curious because I'm biting my nails on a $12k investment.

I'm confident that I'll get my $$ back but worried that by the end of the ride I'll look back at 6 months of risk for a measly $2000 in profit and then only get $600/month afterwards.
>>
>>2742195
Joking right? See the price? Using a calculator it's profitable now but think of how much that difficulty will go up overnight when everyone switches to it.
>>
>>2739963
Lol beginner 1070 fag detected. There is a point of diminishing returns with overclocking. EWBF tells you your sol/kw ratio. Faster sol =/= greater profits.

Just sell your cards for an instant 150+ per card return.
>>
>>2747876
this...

I bought some 28MH/s 470's at Bestbuy for $165 in May.

Those 460's for $109 ain't to shabby either. They are starting to sell out too and being gouged out at $180. (still on amazon for $140 tho)

Check out craigslist. I see 6 card Mining Rigs for $5500.

Daily Reminder... 470's were $165 (480s $195) at bestbuy before all this and they were still making a profit. Everything else on top is going into someone's pockets.

I bet more people made money selling shovels and picks during the gold rush than miners that landed on the moon.

are those rx 460s? is it more efficient to buy these cards than to get 480s used? I've been lamenting on this for a while, but it seems like even 460s are getting sold out and the price of those still in stock is going up
