1. What do you mean when you refer to the market cap of a crypto?
2. What happens when someone one want to buy an amount of crypto worth larger than the total amount of the market cap of the said cryptocurrency?

Market Cap by Total Supply (almost never mentioned) -> For Ethereum: Price of ETH times all the existing Ethereum coins.
Market Cap by Circulating Supply (the one often mentioned) -> For Ethereum: Price of Ethereum times all the Ethereum in circulation (exchanges, etc).
So like "Total Value" of Ethereum.
Marketcap by circulating supply is fake and manipulated, lots of people can be saving ETH in their wallets. MarketCap by Total Supply is the real one but Coinmarketcap shows MarketCap by circulating supply by default.
The second thing you said is stupid.
Don't come here till you know a bit more, you'll get spammed with "Nice, just bought 100k" and "Sent ;)" memes. Just a heads up.
