The way I see it:
X coins exist but Y% of them are tied up in waves platform since they can be staked (set it and forget it), People are receiving free money for doing nothing. As the coin is accrued, more people invest their waves in the platform to generate cash. Artificial scarcity occurs and the price continues to rise. People sell off the waves they've accrued through mining as the price increases.

Seems kinda comfy if you ask me.

Also, you can just get it cheap now and get rid of it later if you want.
