Rare coins are a long term hold. Right now those are "rare," but they're still pretty simple to find. I get them all the time when I take the train and pay for tickets, since the machines don't return bills. Even got myself some Susan B. Anthony silver dollars when I paid for a $2 train ticket with a $20 once. Save them and give them to your kids, once they're old enough to care about money they should be worth a decent amount.
