go to poloniex and get an account, transfer btc or another pair to your margin account, and then look at "sell (x)" on the right side. you want the price of (x) to be high as possible. then, set a buy order for the same amount at the price you think it will drop to or below. if your buy cost is lower than your sell cost you keep the difference.

Bump for interest. I've heard shorting stocks can fuck you over if you short and it keeps rising, you can basically lose more than you put in. Is that true with crypto?

When you buy something, the only thing you stand to lose is however much it cost. If you spend $200 on BTC you can only ever lose $200.
When you short something, you can lose as much as the price rises. Theoretically you can lose infinitely.
