When ETH breaks down weekly due to an ICO, it's obvious how immature the technology still is. Bitcoin is just as immature, but it gets a pass due to network effects.
I moved most of my money into Litecoin at $25 because they're the closest to solving the scaling problem, while having great security due to heavy mining.

I don't know. The web application is great. Bitfinex does a good job resisting DDoS attacks. They stayed up at times when Poloniex and Kraken were unreachable. Rarely any lags. Also support is great... After 60 days on Bitfinex, many deposits and withdrawals, the worst I encountered was the odd stuck ETC deposit that was solved quickly by their support. 8/10 would recommend Bitfinex.
The only downsides worth mentioning is the fixed leverage. 3.3x fixed, not configurable.

Bitfinex also supports Tor and you can access it using a hidden service.
