what could cause the end of crypto in the next 20 years?
Nothing
- The fact that most of its practical applications are vaporware.
- Crackdown by law enforcement / regulators due to money laundering (hey look a practical application!) and ransomware
- General loss of interest when gains stop materializing
- Major bug in Bitcoin/Ethereum
Tons of things.
>big banks/financial institutions/governments coming up with their own cryptos
>US/China/Russia/Europe banning cryptos

cryptography used for secure transactions will not go away.
Bitcoin will probably die once banks/governments start using the technology. There's a chance it's still going to be used for illegal shit but I'd imagine a more niche coin comes up, I don't know.
everything that isn't bitcoin is effectively worthless (right now). you have a bunch of gimmicky data transfer systems masked as "new, innovative tech" by the fact that they use blockchain. any developer who has 10% of a functioning brain is working on Bitcoin or a supporting system, the rest are just trying to get rich off the hype and move on.

if ww3 happens and they sever the internet connections. Not highly unlikely.
>hodl
>20 years
If you are holding for 2 years you are doing it wrong, most good coins take 3 year to takeoff not 20.

this. Except for BTC and XMR because of DNM, essentially
