After watching ethereum go from under a dollar to where it was, and a couple other alt coins I "called" moon, I figured I could finally get in on this dip and spend on some promising newer coins with large future earnings potential.

Those companies are subsidizing their "free" tier with the profit from their paid tiers. Nothing prevents a Sia-backed service from doing the same.
wrt Google Drive specifically, they claim not to have any bandwidth limits, but in practice they'll shut you down if you exceed some internal limit, like a 1000 people all downloading 1TB.
