so I read a book about the basics of investing and the stock market and it mentioned mutual funds.
a group that will buy/sell stocks for you, The book was from the 90's and American (while I'm a bong) so I'm weary that some of the terminology might be different. When I searched for them here I found something called 'fixed rate bond'. I'm not sure if it's something similar or not.
so I'm asking if anyone has tried them and how did it turn out?
I was thinking of trying it out with a small amount at first, around £100

find one that is no load no transaction fee. invest into it every week. if you going one time only pick an etf they have less fees typically and trade like a stock instead of once a day like mut fund.
