We had one in my town but it recently shut down (not sure why). Had coffee, tea, couches, books on bookshelves, etc. Seemed like a good place and I had a lot of business meetings there. It was open nearly 10 years before it shut down so you can make it work.

How populated is your area? I'd say if the shop is in a densely populated area it has the potential to do very well. Take extra care to make sure the shop is comfortable, and have attractive decor. Make it a place worth spending time at.

Just an idea, in the tea places in my old town you could also buy tea in little bags. That was the best part. You could sit there and drink your freshly made tea, and then get some leaves for home. Everyone was giving it to each other for Christmas. All kinds of strange tea blends. Good times.

Thing is you are going to have all tables full all day because groups of 15-55yo women will just buy one teapot of tea and camp there all day chitchatting. Bar owners in euro hate serving tea to these retards, when they could serve alcoolic beverages and earn a lot more money. So maybe specialize on high markup teas, expensive coffee blends and a high class vip room with even higher quality service
