Also, the BTC segwit could make or break LTC value in August. (I'm gonna bet on make)

It has higher inflation rate and about 80m final coin count compared to bitcoin's 21m. Just by that alone, it should be worth 4x less - all things being equal. That puts it around $650.
BUT, all things are not equal:
+ Does not have first mover advantage
+ Not as much development as BTC therefore less secure/innovative (yeah yeah segwit, i'll get to that)
+ Waay less hashpower therefore less secure
+ OTOH, LTC has segwit and LN, though it now seems BTC will be getting segwit eroding some of LTC's selling points.
So LTC's price should be much lower than 650 on the face of it. How low, nobody knows.

That said, LTC is a good hedge against BTC. I like it long term, but I'm convinced it'll dip into the 30s before going any higher.

Tempting to use leverage but after the GDAX happening this week it's tough to dive in. I made some nice gains riding up ETH and bailed right before it started dropping under $350. Feel so lucky and don't want to test that luck again.

It's a long term coin. Don't expect to make a lot overnight but the next moon should be in about 1/2 - 2 weeks, I'd recommend getting in before the 27th since it will be lower then.
