Are you concerned about submitting your real name and/or ID copy? Is there any privacy risk or way to link it to your cypto?
I bought BTC like 3 years ago on localbitcoins, but now many traders require fucking name and ID, which I don't like.

There's a lot of fraud in online cash-to-crypto exchanges. They're just watching out for themselves.

I mean, if you're in escrow, and you send bank wire, how can fraud go through, if you don't receive money you don't receive bitcoin, do I not understand something?

Most of these exchanges do credit card transactions. Credit cards can be stolen, charges can be reversed, lots of things.
It's pretty cancerous, I bought bitcoin on localbitcoins and coinbase years ago before they required a blood and semen sample
I sold some btc on bitsquare (now bisq) recently though, completely decentralized
