LTC is the only solid major coin choose right now, with no hype attached to it. It works and has had no issues so far.

Segwit2x is gonna be a regular ol' segwit softfork NOW and a hardfork for increased blocksize within 6 months.

The only thing they have to change and test, is the new activation threshold and compatibility with UASF. Otherwise it's the same segwit, you know the same one they copied for LTC.
