so im am basically new to cryptos, i was planning to buy some Ark on bitttex. It basically gave me a generated code for a wallet that is only for storing Ark. Is there any other independent wallets i can store multiple types of coins in including ark? also so basically i just use that code to access my wallet on bittrex?

Use the ark client to store ark on your computer, vote for the delegate named "biz" and youll earn ark every week automatically. If you use bittrex for other coins then enable 2FA (very important). A ton of people have gotten their bittrex accounts hacked.

ok thanks for the tip, so if I get the ark client, then i just use my wallet on bittrex then immediately transfer it to the ark client?

Yes if it's a big amount of money do not keep it in the exchange. Download the official wallets from the site of the coins you have and put in there, do not use wallets that do not give you private keys, and you multiple backups.
