Anons, I have a meeting tomorrow with my manager & the CEO to ask for higher compensation.
This compensation could come in any form (raise to salary, bonuses, commission on webstore sales, etc.)
How should I go about this? How can I increase my chances of getting this raise?
Some more details...
I got hired at the company 2 months ago as an E-commerce/digital marketing manager.
I handle things like:
- shopify store and corporate website
- email/content marketing
- social media
- customer service/live chat
I also have several long-term projects I’m working on such as:
- website redesign
- getting our products on amazon launchpad
- making videos/marketing collateral
- building a dashboard to help communicate data with the executive team & sales team.
I’m on salary right now, paid for 40 hours a week.
I would like to work 50-55 hours a week but refuse to work those extra hours for free.
By working these extra hours, I could bring more money to the company, and complete my long-term projects faster.

I've done x, y, and z which has been instrumental to q resulting in p.
To compare to similar positions of people doing x/y/z in i industry, I am underpaid compared to the average of avg.

I’m very data driven as an employee. Fuck people’s opinions, i’m all about the numbers.
I have data showing that for every $1 the company pays me, the company makes $1.16 in return.

But is that enough?? And how much of a raise would that warrant??
Doesn’t this mean I am worth infinite money lol?

Ask for higher compensation when the company is doing well. It puts the boss in a position that if he fires you deadlines will be missed and the amount of money lost will be much less than giving you some extra wagiebucks.
I'm a VP for a small business in a cyclical industry and I try my best to avoid this type of situation.

Being data driven doesn't really mean shit. Your boss trusts his management methodology much more than some numbers you put together.
Your best bet is to do some research into how people have gotten raises in the past and what approaches work/don't work. Then continue to show effort and take credit for things and your boss won't even have to second guess giving you a raise when asked.

Also, working for 2 months and already asking for a raise. Lmao. Ask for a raise every quarter at the most. Mangers don't hate anything more than when the new guy who just got hired is asking for a raise.
