Actually its the opposite. trading pairs are denominated in BTC.

Therefore as the dollar value of BTC goes up, BTC value of the trading pair, if it stays the same dollar value, will go down, eg., youwill get less BTC per unit trading for the asset that didn't rise.

Underneath the BTC value is the dollar value so don't worry about it too much if you're holding. If the BTC value is going down though you are losing purchasing power because you have to trade back into BTC to buy into something else.

There are other coins which are more stable than BTC. For example, LTC. Tether is also stable but under heavy demand for it will depreciate up to 10% from what I've seen.

Understand also the rising BTC value means that BTC price is falling. Which is a good thing, not a bad thing. But generally you should regard spot prices as being normal within a range for that coin.
