I'm further confused, because I went to their website, and the main devs say they're moving on to another coin called Komodo.

It's going up because BITCOIN DARK sounds like the antithesis of BITCOIN and people are worried about BTC's future so they are looking for alternatives; Kommodo price rise is also pushing the price up.
