no banks need to offer services at very reasonable price that make lightning network practical for payment in stores to the same level as cards do. you don't really want to give them any of your coins they should be intermediaries.
I get the banks thing. But fact is normies struggle with the idea of being responsible for their own shit, without someone else securing their coins for them I don't think they'll be hodling too many for a while, I still find storing and even transferring a bit of a stressful exercise, I mostly worry I'll overdo it and end up locking myself out of my own shit
