Forget crypto, put as much as you can afford into index funds. After leaving high school and fucking around spending every paycheck I got for 3 years I started splitting 90% of my paycheck between index funds and a deposit on a house, taking advantage of living at home with no rent and no bills. Through promotions (I work in a bank) my salary increased by quite a bit couples with yearly increases and I was able to put more and more into funds.

After saving £500 a month for 5 years I had enough for a deposit on a ~300k house at 26, but instead I took a gamble and put a deposit down on a ~170k apartment which I managed to get as a buy to let and rent out. I live commutable distance from London and regularly have tenants which pay the mortgage on it then give me an extra few hundred a month.

Right now (at 28) I have about £120,000 in index funds, an apartment paid for each month worth about 20k more than I bought it for so £190kish and will be over £200k when I sell it, and I have nearly £30k again in a savings account for a deposit on a nice-ish 3 bedroom house which in the UK right now is almost an impossibility and getting harder. I have another £30k tied up in various other investments.

I will be at the very least a millionaire in another 12 years, and by the time I'm 60-ish I'll hopefully have hit the 10 million mark. My aim is to start my own business eventually and pass all my wealth onto my children, and have them add to it. The compound interest and rising property prices will mean that, if I raise my children right, my grandchildren will be in the 9-figure mark. I hope for them to carry my dream, which would be for my progeny to provide education worldwide and work to end world hunger. This isn't a 'I invested in BTC and became a trillionaire overnight' type deal, just a real, tangible plan than I'm sticking to and which is working out.
