How can the short interest % be above 100%?
For Example, UNG. They have 76.16 million short interest with only 60.37 million shares outstanding.
If I am doing my calculations completely incorrect but 76.16/60.37 = about 126%.
Person 1 shorts share 1
Person 2 receives share 1 from Person 1
Person 2 sells share 1 to Person 3
Person 3 shorts share 1 and sells it Person 4
Now you have two short positions for 1 share.

Woops let me correct that:
Person 1 shorts share 1
Person 2 receives share 1 from Person 1
Broker lets Person 3 borrow share 1 from Person 2 to short sell to Person 4
Now you have two short positions for 1 share.
