Hey boys,
I need some advice on building credit
Im 22 in the Army, and have never used credit for anything, I dont really need credit for anything as of now I have a good amount of cash, but I just wanna start building it.
I have a car, but I bought it in cash, I have a cell phone, insurance and internet bill but that's it for my fixed expenses, because I live in the barracks and eat at the defac on post.
I can get a "StarCard" from the PX pretty easily, with a 3,000$ limit, I read that having a lower ratio of credit used to credit limit helps increase your score. So my question is, should I get the highest limit I can, or should I volunteer for a lower limit like 1,000$, I will only use a few hundred dollars of it just to make payments on? How much of a difference will it really make?
