Say I have unlimited purchasing power. I have no intentions to make any profit off of it and am accepting to incurr (heavy) losses.
I want to significantly drop the price of a product without increasing supply.
How would I go about it?

not necessarily. but if you keep selling at progressively lowe and lower prices and you control the supply you essentially tank it for a small while. In order to sell at higher prices for profits there has to be someone willing to buy.

Currently 80% of said product is going through a select few very wealthy hands.
Due to them aggressively buying up all stock of said product the prices have heavily increased.
