Ethereum is the best crypto out there right now for creating your own tokens to start projects on. Right now you have a bunch of scammers in that space for sure, but besides them you have people who are working on perfectly legitimate platforms which they plan to support far into the future. Just because ETH isn't at the point where it is viable as a one-size-fits-all platform doesn't mean that it isn't useful in it's own right.

yeah this. Smart contracts are far from being utilised in any revolutionary way, PoS and sharding have their own issues which will need to be worked out, ETH is yet to prove itself as a platform.
