Why does everyone backup their wallest on usb sticks instead sd cards? i keep my sd card in a sd card case in my wallet. Is there something wrong with sd cards, biz?

They're less universal
I don't have a wallet backup. If you have it backed up on an sd card or flash drive or anything, you don't have to keep backing it up every time you change it, right? It's just a copy of the private keys and then you can use the wallet files to read from the blockchain, right?

your understanding is correct

Your balance is on the blockchain. If you need to send bitcoin to another address, you have to sign a transaction using your private key. If you don't have a private key for an address, you don't control the coins sent to that address.
