A lot of this shit was marketed back in the 90s as "turn key" operations. Of course, as many people found out - passive income isn't exactly passive.
Vending machines, rental properties, franchises, car washes all take quite a bit of work/know-how on your end. Things constantly break, need servicing/maintenance. And really for stuff like that you need to own multiple to generate any substantial income.
If you're smart enough, do a blog. Otherwise just throwing money into an index fund is your best bet.
what about car parks?
Passive income idea, buy ETH
When will silly nochiners learn

>rental properties
I've got a rental property. It can be passive if you're willing to pay $250-300 a month for a property manager. Saves you a lot of head ache with the tenant, the renovations and the repairs.

This.
You can buy parking spaces in the city center and then rent them out.
That's a good way to earn passive income.
I am renting out my apartment. 1200 euro's every month.
(Living with my girlfriend. We share the profits.)

Its really not bro, if you want to save a lot of time and headache dealing with tenants wanting a $100 discount on their deposit, hire a property manager.

I bet it does, I just find it funny that you make money just by being The Owner
Best way to make money imo
What kind of rent do you charge?

You seem very young, likely still in university.
Once you leave the safety and structure of university you'll realize that money really does rule everything around us and you will learn it the hard way when you start working.
Being here on /biz/ is already a major step most people will never do; you've already got a huge leg up just for being here.
And yes, being an owner of capital and making money from it is indeed a valid and good way to make yourself wealthier. Stop thinking about idealism's, they die once you graduate.
Most people out there are greedy and cruel, some are better than hiding it than others and you'll learn quick that you need to get that money to be free.
I charge $2500 a month for my rent, I earn $2050 from it after tax and fees.
