Hey /biz/. What are the chances that a stock will bounce back after filing a chapter 7. I'm looking at 2 stocks right now that are under a dollar a share, and I feel like they have good fundamentals and that the company will survive. Wouldn't it make sense to buy shares for .50 if I think the company won't be liquidated? It's not like the shares can drop any lower. The stocks I'm looking at are SDRL, TDW, which were both 50+ at one point when oil sold for a lot more than it is right now

Op it's a total gamble but could pay off big time. I remember many years ago Sirius XM was in bankruptcy talks, their stock went under 10 cents and I was on the fence about throwing in 500bucks. I didn't do it, had bills and such. But it's 5 bucks a share now. That 500 could have been 25,000. Sucks, but I made the right decision for me at the time.
Remember, hindsight is 20/20. Go with your gut.

I'm actually trying to compile a list of companies that were on the verge of bankrupt and either ended up filing chapter 11. Does anyone know where I can find a list?
