Hey /biz/, I'm a total newfag and I literally only heard of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin years ago and passing.
So, a crypto currency is a type of currency or money that people just "make" and other people "invest" in it and make money off of it? How is this legal? How is it a legitimate currency if not recognized by a government agency?

What's mining? You have to explain these terms. If mining is basically like printing new coins or money, how can it create value? Doesn't it just inflate the currency?
